This privacy policy describes how the KisanPukar Android app (“KisanPukar”, “the app”, “the service”) and the KisanPukar helper on WhatsApp collect, use, store, share and delete your personal information. It is provided in English; the Urdu site policy applies to this website itself. KisanPukar is developed and operated by OmniSolve, Islamabad, Pakistan. By using KisanPukar you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
The data controller for your information is OmniSolve, Islamabad, Pakistan. You can reach us at any time at info@kisanpukarai.com.
2. What KisanPukar is
KisanPukar is an AI assistant for farmers in Pakistan. You ask a question by holding the microphone button and speaking (or by typing), and the app sends your recording or message to our server, turns speech into text, and generates an answer for you. KisanPukar is a software tool, not a person and not a government office. For important farming, financial or legal decisions, please also speak to a local expert.
3. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive the email address and the display name of your Google account through Google Sign-In (via Supabase Auth). Your email address is how we identify your account. We never see or store your Google password.
- Profile and farming details. The name, city or district, village or area, and land size in acres that you tell the assistant or type into the Profile screen. All of these are optional; the app works without them.
- Your messages and content. Everything you send to KisanPukar and everything it answers: text messages, the audio of each voice note, and the written transcript produced from each voice note. Pictures you send through the WhatsApp helper are also stored.
- App settings. The language, theme and text size you choose in the app, and any changes the assistant makes to them at your request.
- Support communications. If you contact us (for example to delete your account), we keep your email and our reply for as long as needed to handle the request.
What we do not collect: your precise or coarse GPS location, your phone's contact list, your phone number, device advertising identifiers, cookies for tracking, or any other data from your device. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software.
4. Google account data
Google Sign-In (through Supabase Auth) is the only way to create a KisanPukar account. This section explains exactly what we receive from your Google account and what happens to it.
- What we access. Only your Google account's email address and display name (basic profile information). We request no other Google data (no Gmail, no Drive, no Calendar, no contacts) and we never see or store your Google password.
- How we use it. Solely to create and identify your KisanPukar account and to keep you signed in. Your Google email is your account identifier; it is not used for advertising, marketing or profiling.
- How we store it. Your email address is stored in our authentication system (Supabase Auth) and in our own database (Cloudflare D1) as your account identifier. Everything travels encrypted (HTTPS).
- Sharing. We do not sell, rent or transfer your Google account data to anyone, and it is never shared for advertising purposes. It is processed only by the providers named in section 7, strictly to operate the service.
- Retention and deletion. Your Google account data is kept for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account (section 9) permanently removes it, completed within 30 days.
KisanPukar's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. App permissions
The app asks only for the permissions it needs:
- Microphone: to record a voice note while you hold the microphone button. Recording happens only while you hold the button, only after you grant the permission, and never in the background or when the app is closed.
- Internet access: to send your messages and recordings to the service and receive answers.
6. How we use your information
- To transcribe your voice notes into text.
- To generate and send you answers to your questions.
- To keep your conversation and profile so you can read them again, on this phone or a new one after signing in.
- To remember your settings (language, theme, text size) across devices.
- To improve the quality, language coverage and reliability of KisanPukar's answers.
- To detect, prevent and stop misuse, abuse or harmful use of the service.
- To respond to your support and deletion requests.
We do not use your personal information for advertising, profiling for marketing, or automated decisions that produce legal effects.
7. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own independent purposes. We use the following companies strictly to operate the service; they process your information only on our instructions and under their own privacy terms:
- Cloudflare: hosts our server and stores your messages, profile, settings and voice recordings on our behalf (Cloudflare Workers, D1 database, R2 storage).
- Google (Gemini API): receives your voice recordings, transcripts, messages and pictures so they can be transcribed and answered. The answers are generated by Google's Gemini models.
- Google Sign-In and Supabase: verify your Google identity and keep you signed in securely.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the public.
8. How long we keep your information
- Voice recordings: deleted automatically 183 days (about 6 months) after they are sent.
- Pictures sent on WhatsApp: deleted automatically 730 days (about 2 years) after they are sent.
- Server logs (which can include message text): deleted automatically after 7 days.
- Messages, transcripts, profile and settings: kept until you delete your account, and then deleted as described in section 9.
9. Your rights: access, correction and deletion
You can view and correct your profile details at any time in the app's Profile tab. You can permanently delete your account and all of your data in either of these ways:
- In the app: open the Profile tab and choose “Delete account”. This permanently deletes your account, your profile, your whole conversation, your voice recordings and your settings.
- By email or web: use our account deletion page or write to us at info@kisanpukarai.com from the Google account you signed in with. We complete deletion within 30 days and reply when it is done.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Copies inside short-lived server logs expire on their own within 7 days.
10. Where your information is stored
Your information is stored and processed on servers operated by Cloudflare and Google in the regions they provide their services. By using KisanPukar you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence, under the safeguards described in this policy.
11. How we protect your information
Everything the app sends travels over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Your sign-in session is stored encrypted on your phone. Access to the servers and stored data is limited to what the service needs to operate, and access on our side is restricted to people maintaining the service.
12. Children
KisanPukar is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and post the new version on this page before the change takes effect. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
